What is Nicki Minaj’s net worth?
With a net worth of $150 million, Nicki Minaj, a Trinidadian-American rapper, model, actress, and R&B singer-songwriter, has made quite an impact in the entertainment industry.
The remarkable ascent of Nicki Minaj was kick-started by three highly successful mixtapes released from 2007 to 2009. Her debut album, “Pink Friday,” launched in 2010, achieved massive commercial success, particularly with the quadruple Platinum hit “Super Bass.” Notably, she became the first female artist to have seven tracks simultaneously listed on the Billboard 100.
Building on this achievement, she released a highly successful second album, alongside several additional chart-topping albums and numerous hit singles. Nicki has garnered over 100 prestigious awards, which include six American Music Awards, 10 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and two People’s Choice Awards, in addition to receiving 10 Grammy Award nominations. Nicki was brought to the spotlight by fellow American rapper Lil Wayne. In May 2017, she surpassed Aretha Franklin’s longstanding record for the most songs on the Hot 100 by a female artist, a record that had stood for over 40 years. It’s important to mention that many of Nicki’s tracks feature her as a guest artist, while Aretha was the sole credited artist on all of her 73 songs.
Early Life
Born Onika Tanya Maraj on December 8, 1982, in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago, Nicki Minaj has one older sister and brother, along with a younger brother and sister. As a child, she lived with her grandmother in Saint James while her mother, Carol, went to New York City for her studies at Monroe College. When Nicki turned five, her mother relocated the family to Queens, New York, where she worked in payroll and accounting. Nicki’s father struggled with an addiction to alcohol and drugs, which led to a violent temper that culminated in burning down the family home in December 1987.
After auditioning for Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Minaj was accepted, aspiring to be an actress. Following her high school graduation, she was cast in the Off-Broadway production “In Case You Forget.” To support her career in acting, she took a job at Red Lobster in the Bronx but was fired for being rude to customers, a pattern that, by her own admission, led to her dismissal from “at least 15 jobs.”

Career
Discovered by fellow American rapper Lil Wayne, Minaj quickly signed a deal with his Young Money Entertainment record label and management. Her first mixtape, Playtime Is Over, was released in 2007, followed by others, including Sucka Free in 2008. In 2008, she received the Female Artist of the Year award at the Underground Music Awards. Minaj made her appearance in XXL magazine in 2009, releasing her third mixtape the same year, followed by another mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty. Her debut album, Pink Friday, came out under the Young Money Entertainment label in 2010 and sold four million copies worldwide. She then launched her second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, in April 2012, which earned platinum certification. Additionally, Nicki Minaj served as one of the celebrity judges on American Idol during
the 2013 season. December 2014 marked the release of her third studio album, The Pinkprint, which has since sold over 650,000 copies globally. August 2018 saw the debut of her fourth studio album, Queen, which entered the Billboard 200 chart at #2. Ultimately, this album earned Platinum certification in the United States, achieving sales of 1 million.
In May 2017, Nicki achieved a significant milestone by surpassing Aretha Franklin’s long-standing record for the highest number of songs on the Hot 100 by a female artist—a record held for over 40 years. It’s important to highlight that many of Nicki’s chart entries were collaborations, whereas Aretha was the sole credited artist on all 73 of her songs. Minaj boasts over 100 prestigious awards, including six American Music Awards, 10 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and two People’s Choice Awards. Despite receiving 10 nominations for Grammy Awards, she has yet to secure a win.

The following month, she starred in ads for Pepsi’s “LiveForNow” campaign, featuring a remix of “Moment 4 Life.” Additionally, she endorsed the 2012 Viva Glam campaign alongside Ricky Martin, which raised an impressive $270 million for the Mac AIDS Fund.

December 2018 marked the beginning of her relationship with childhood friend Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, for whom she applied for a marriage license in August 2019, and she made their marriage public on October 21, 2019.
Her cousin, Nicholas Telemaque, was tragically murdered in July 2011 near their home in Brooklyn, New York—an experience she alludes to in her tracks “Champion” and “All Things Go.”
In February 2017, Nicki’s residence was invaded by burglars who caused extensive damage, tossing furniture and belongings throughout the home. They ultimately stole jewelry and other valuables worth approximately $200,000.
In November 2017, her brother Jelani was convicted of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering child welfare. On January 27, 2020, he received a sentence of 25 years to life from the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.

Real Estate
Nicki Minaj did not acquire any real estate in the US for nearly a decade, primarily opting to rent. For instance, from August 2016, she and Meek Mill rented a Beverly Hills mansion for $35,000 monthly. The property, constructed in 2008 on the former site of Frank Sinatra’s home, spans 10,340 square feet with breathtaking views of the city and mountains. Inside, there’s a two-story foyer, an expansive living room featuring a fireplace, and arched French doors that open to the outdoors. The residence includes an eat-in kitchen, a wood-paneled library with built-ins, a formal dining room, and a family room, alongside eight bedrooms. The outdoor amenities encompass a swimming pool, a spa, and an outdoor barbecue area. Following their breakup, Mill vacated, and the mansion remained solely Minaj’s until February 2018 when she exited.
In the ensuing years, Nicki rented another mansion located in Calabasas, California.
At last, in late 2022, Nicki purchased her own property, acquiring a home in Hidden Hills, California, for $19.5 million in December 2022. This mansion, featuring 12,000 square feet, was brand new and had not made it to the market prior to Minaj’s purchase.
